Japfest 2017 took place at Silverstone National Circuit in April 2017. The event was massive! Thousands of modified Jap cars were in attendance, featuring retro classics through to full on modified race cars. On the track, there were public sessions along with three drifting events. There was so much on display, it’s more than likely I missed some things! It has become so huge now that it should be a two day event. Now due to parental responsibilities at this event, I was unable to take more photos than I did, so I hope you enjoy what I did manage to capture.

You can also watch my track time session from Japfest below. This is the W intermediate session at 4:20pm. The car is a Toyota Starlet Glanza V running a non forged 4EFTE 1.3L engine with TD04L Turbo at 0.9 bar boost. The first few laps I took her steady but you can see I got progressively faster as the session went on, overtaking some much more powerful and expensive cars. The rear grip wasn’t great so a lot of movement from the rear end going into the corners. Towards the end, the car temperature was running quite high. The wheels / brakes were so hot the centre caps on my wheels melted and fell out. Great fun and can’t wait to hit the track again sometime.

Enjoy the photos & video and I hope to be at another car show / event very soon! Follow me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/alanarnoldphotography
